Strange Hoodie

For my Birthday I went to Harry Potter Studios with my family (Yes, I went again!) and it was absolutely amazing!! I got an awesome Ravenclaw hoodie whilst I was there as a part of my birthday present and I LOVE it!
The only problem is the zip is a little confusing.
So all the hoodies and fleeces I've ever owned before (a grand total of 2/3) that zip up, the zip has always been on the right looking at it from the front (as looking at it in the photos below... not sure how to explain it?!?!!). However... this zip is on the left?
I assumed it was because it's a men's hoodie (I didn't care if it was a men's hoodie, it's awesome and I love it!) and assumed men's zips were the other way round like it is for buttons. (I made a discovery a few months ago that boys and girls shirts have the buttons on different sides.  http://www.thekellykat.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/boys-and-girls-shirts.html - the post I made about it!)
I didn't really think too much about it because I assumed it was for this reason until someone told me that boys/men's hoodies are the same side as girls/ladies. WHAT?
To show you what I mean here are a few photos of various hoodies:

The left photo is my dance hoodie, and as you can see the zip is on the right looking at it from the front. On the right is a hoodie I stole from my brother to take a picture of it and as you can see the zip is also on the right!

And here is my Ravenclaw hoodie! First of all, ISN'T IT AMAZING?!?!!?!! I mean the Ravenclaw logo is awesome and it even has Ravenclaw written down the side and is so warm and comfy.... haha incase you didn't guess I'm a lifelong Harry Potter fan and a Ravenclaw! But yeah, back to the point, the zip is on the left looking at it from here!
I have also just gone and looked at my dad's hoodie and the zip is also on the right looking from the front....
It's very strange!
But I love the hoodie waaaaaay too much so I'm not going to get rid of it or anything, it's probably my favourite piece of clothing at the moment!
